VIC - Melbourne (Listed by SHRV)

**URGENT FOSTER CARER REQUIRED - NO POCKET PETS - Please contact Jane at SHRV**

SULTAN is a gorgeous and affectionate 5yr old Husky X Mal boy. He is medium sized and has the facial features of a Husky but his body shape, legs and feet are far more Malamute like, as is his temperament and selectiveness in doggy peers.

He LOVES his walks and to run when possible. He does pull a little at first when walking but then walks quite well after the initial excitement wears off.

Sultan would need a owner who is prepared to provide ongoing training and socialisation, as well as provide him with sufficient daily exercise to keep him mentally and physically stimulated. Frequent grooming is also a requirement and strong, secure fencing.

He is fine with children but would be best suited as an only dog with lots of love and attention as he does not get along with other dogs and prefers his own space.

Poor sultan seems to have had quite a bad life so far, he has been quite neglected and is in very poor condition. His coat has been shaved and it also appears as though chunks has been chopped away as it is growing back quite unevenly and patchy...which can often occur with shaving. He has quite severe fly bite on his ears which are also starting to heal and are being treated whilst in foster care.

*NO CATS OR SMALL ANIMALS as he has a strong Prey drive*

Adoption Fee: $350
(Includes desexing, C5 vaccination, microchipping, heartworm test/treatment and worm/flea treated)

VIC (Rescued by AMRAA) **FOSTER CARER REQUIRED**

INDIGO is a gorgeous and extremely energetic 9 mth old Malamute x Husky girl, who is looking for a loving, active family of her very own. She gets on well with male dogs and is great with the older children she has been living with. Indie loves her kisses and cuddles and playtime.

As she is still very young and currently only started in the past few months with obedience training, Indie will need ongoing training and socialisation to help her reach her full potential.

High, strong, dig-proof, escape proof fencing is a requirement, as well as daily exercise to keep Indie physically and mentally stimulated.

Adoption Fee: $350
(Includes desexing, c5 vaccination, microchip, heartworm test/treatment and worm/flea treated)

**Big THANKS to Sharon and Sandra for fostering Special for us**

SPECIAL is his name and he most certainly is!!! This lively and cheerful 3yr old boy is in foster care with AMRAA so we can find him a wonderful forever home, where he will be dearly loved for his delightfully endearing inquisitive and affectionate personality and where his physical appearance and hearing impairment will be accepted.

He is good with children, allows full handling, likes to be brushed and LOVES being with allowed inside with his humans at night especially as he is housetrained. He could do with some obedience and lead training and will be receiving this whilst in care with his extremely experienced foster carers.

Although AMRAA cannot assist Huskies, we felt that we must make an exception in his case, as Special has been rehomed a number of times in his short life and we want to ensure that his next home is forever!

Special is a Siberian Husky who was mauled by another dog when only a little puppy. Both ears were ripped off and one has been sewn over completely and the other flap was sewn back on. He is deaf in the ear sewn over and though his hearing is impaired in the other, he does have some hearing. He has no problems hearing a whistle as we discovered:). We have been told he does get worried if another dog tries to dominate or intimidate him. A normal reaction to such a horrific attack when so young and defenceless.

At present, he is in foster care with a gorgeous female Malamute named Manhattan. As soon as Special saw her down the street, he became SO excited and wanted to play with her...their meet and greet was the easiest we have ever experienced and they got on like a house on fire from the very first second. He found a dead mouse and didn't even react when Manhattan went to investigate as well. However, as with any of our dogs, we always recommend separate feeding from other animals

As with all arctic breeds, Special will need a home with strong, secure, escape proof fencing, daily exercise and frequent brushing to keep his lovely coat in good condition.

He truly is a delight and would make the most wonderful family companion....could it be with your family..???

Adoption Fee: TBA
(Special is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, flea/worm treated)

VIC - Melbourne (Private Rehoming)

Hasn't SOOTY got THE most gorgeous smile!!! This adorable boy is a 6 yr old Mally x GSD....my 2 favourite breeds:). He is a gentle and affectionate boy who LOVES people and is great with children. He is well-behaved, housetrained, has a medium level of obedience training and respects a firm but gentle leader. He also gets on well with other dogs...so he's a pretty easy going boy.....he's just not so keen on the kitties....unless it's to chase them!

Sooty would love his new family to involve him in their daily activities, to be welcomed indoors as well as outdoors, to take him on his daily walks, play with him, brush him frequently and basically lavish him with the affection he deserves. Sooty is coming from a loving home which he shares with a Staffy but due to unfortunate circumstances, his owner has to move interstate very soon to help a family member and there is only enough room allowed for a smaller dog and reluctantly Sooty's owner has to leave without him and desperately wants him to go to the BEST forever home he can find for him.

Please contact Peter on the details below if YOU are that person for his beloved Sooty.
Adoption Fee: $50 donation to AMRAA(Sooty is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped)

VIC - Melbourne **Thank you to Tara Cadzow for fostering Blaze**

Be prepared to fall in love! Meet BLAZE - an absolutely adorable, goofy and affectionate Mally boy who, even though he's just turned 10 yrs of age, acts much younger and is still a playful chap . He LOVES being with people and is just great with children and recently lived with 4 kids between 3 - 14 yrs of age.

He does not get on with male dogs at all but is fine with female's but would need an introduction to any existing dog. Blaze has a high prey drive, so cats or any pocket pets would be unsuitable.

Due to a change in family circumstances, Blaze, who was rehomed in July 2010, is now in need of a new family and as he's such a lovable big boofa, we truly want him to be spoiled and well treated for his last years with an energetic family who will be prepared to exercise, walk and include him in daily activities, as well as provide frequent grooming. He is used to being fed twice daily and loves sardines, eggs, chicken necks, carcasses and his meaty bones with his dinner.

Blaze enjoys his time playing with the hose, even though not a huge fan of water. He would LOVE to be permitted to be an inside dog as well but is not yet housetrained, as he’s only used to being left outside. Blaze needs to be groomed frequently, as do all Malamutes.

Don't be fooled by his age...this gorgeous boy will need to be walked daily. He does pull at start of walk only.

Blaze has severe flybitten ears and would need to have protection to prevent further injury, as well as cream to help heal or else vit E capsule oil rubbed on them to help the healing process.

Can you open up your heart and home for such a sweetheart?

D.O.B: 2nd September, 2001

Adoption Fee: On application.
(Blaze is desexed, vaccinated April/May 2011, heartworm tested/treated and microchipped)

**Siblings - To be rehomed together**

YUKIKO (left) is a very pretty 2 year old Malamute girl at approximately 40kgs and needing a forever home with her brother Caden. The siblings have not had much exposure to small children or other dogs and would benefit from further ongoing training. At present they are prone to jumping up in excitement.

CADEN (right) is a handsome 2 yr old Malamute boy, who is quite large at around 55kg, who is looking for his furever home with his sister Yukiko. They have not had much exposure to small children or other dogs and would benefit from further ongoing training. At present they are prone to jumping up in excitement.

Due to a medical condition that prevents their primary owner walking them, the family would like to see them go to a new home where they can still be together and receive all the attention, care and exercise they deserve.

Strong secure fencing is a must and an owner who is prepared to exercise daily and groom regularly to keep them in top condition.

Adoption Fee: TBA
(Both are desexed, microchipped & vaccinated)

**Big THANKS to Danni and Peter Allen for fostering Nunook**

NUNOOK is a gorgeous and extremely affectionate 3 yr old red & white, lean Alaskan Malamute boy, who just loves to be near his people. He sits, shakes paw and is good with other dogs and great with kids...he even played basketball with his foster carers friend's son.

Nunook is a a truly lovely fella who will need a firm but gentle, experienced leader. He is learning some new manners and will sit and wait for his food now until given the ok. He is a bit of a sooky boy and is wary of trucks and cars when out walking. Nunook has been brought up as an outside dog but is in the process of being housetrained.

He would need an energetic owner who is prepared to provide ongoing training and socialisation, as well as provide Nunook with sufficient daily exercise to keep him mentally and physically stimulated. Like all Malamutes, he will need strong, secure fencing and frequent brushing to keep his fabulous coat maintained.

Nunook would not be suited to be homed with very young children or pocket pets.

Adoption Fee: $300
(Includes desexing, vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test/treatment, worm and flea treatment.

Saskya

VIC - Omeo (Listed by Howling Husky Sled Dog Tours)

SASKYA is a pretty 6.5yr old Mally girl who been sled dog racing in harness for the past 2.5 years and enjoys it thoroughly.

She would be suited to a family as only dog with lots of love and attention or rehomed with another Malamute as she only gets along with dogs of SAME breed, Malamutes....not even Huskies!

She absolutely ADORES people and would do anything for you, but will not come back if let loose, so she is an ON Lead dog when being walked and will need secure fencing to keep her in.

*NO CATS OR SMALL ANIMALS as she has a strong Prey drive

Adoption Fee: $50-100 to cover travel expenses as Saskya is already desexed and vaccinations are up to date, etc..
