Sascha

Sascha is a lovely little grey and white Siberian husky. She is about 4 years old and has been desexed, microchipped and lifetime registered. She is available for adoption immediately for a donation of $300 that will help cover her rescue costs, and she is located in Tweed Heads NSW 2485.

Sascha was recently surrendered at a pound by her owner as being too boisterous for their 4 year old child. Sascha has been in foster care since the start of August and has shown herself to be remarkably settled. At her foster home she has a 3 year old child to interact with, and while she does like playing and gets excited, she just needs guidance as to how to behave (i.e. she needs some training) and she is fine. She loves going for walks and being young and healthy she would need one every day. She does pull on lead but basic training can teach her better habits and solve that problem. She is not immediately sociable with other huskies and is a bit anxious around them and guards her kennel from them, so she would suit an only-dog home, or one that is experienced in introducing a new dog to the household. She is fantastic with people and has absolutely no problems there.

Sascha has been through quite a bit and as is often the case where dogs have been through the pound, she needs a little time to settle down again. As with all huskies she is not suited to a home that has cats, small dogs or other small pets, even though she has not caused any problems to date with the cat at her foster home.

Sascha is best suited to an active family that has someone home a fair bit of the time, and enjoys spending time outdoors in the yard with their dog. Her family would need to walk her regularly and take her to dog training classes to help her learn proper manners. She needs a fully fenced yard with 6 foot colourbond or paling fences. Sascha currently stays in a dog run during the day and at night and she deals with the confinement very well.

If you think Sascha might suit your family, please contact her foster carer for more information or to arrange a time to meet her.
