Welcome to the Winterpaws website, a site dedicated to helping the rescue of Samoyed, Alaskan Malamute, Siberian Husky, and other northern spitz breeds in Australia.
We are not a rescue group but offer our services as a resource to those who are involved in rescue. Any dogs advertised on this site by a rescue group is done free of charge. Where we are notified we will also place pictures of dogs who have been impounded and are currently on death row.
If you do not see a dog on this site that suits you, feel free to contact us and we will add your details to our mailing list. Do think very carefully about choosing a northern breed dog as a pet. We want our rescues to go to their forever home and a quick look through of our site will provide you with background information and links for each breed. Do feel free to contact us with any questions and where possible we will direct you to the most appropriate person

Ash & Geronimo
Meet Ash & Geronimo, "the cosmic twins"! They were both born on June 1, 2001. On the left (wolf Grey) is Geronimo, & the girl on the right (Mask) is Ash.
They are great on the lead & walk better when they are walked together. They are use to being walked every day & sometimes twice a day, and love meeting people on their walks.
They love going for swims in the beach when the water is calm.
Ash and Geronimo are looking for a home together, with secure fencing and will be allowed inside, especially on hot days out of the summer heat.
